What is LKPM?
The Investment Activity Report (LKPM) is a mandatory report submitted by investment companies to the Indonesian government. It outlines the progress of investment realization, employment, production activities, and business development.
The purpose of the LKPM is to help the government monitor and evaluate ongoing investments, ensuring they are carried out according to the approved business plan and legal requirements.
Who Must Submit LKPM?
All companies that have obtained a Business Identification Number (NIB) and an investment license through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system must submit LKPM, including:
Even if your business is still under construction or not yet operating, you are still required to report your progress through LKPM.
LKPM Reporting Periods
The LKPM submission schedule depends on your company’s operational stage:
1. Construction or Preparation Stage
If your company is still in the process of building facilities, hiring employees, or preparing to operate, you must submit quarterly reports:
- Q1: January – March → submit by April 10
- Q2: April – June → submit by July 10
- Q3: July – September → submit by October 10
- Q4: October – December → submit by January 10 (following year)
2. Commercial Operation Stage
Once your business has started operating and generating revenue, LKPM must be submitted every six months:
- Semester I: January – June → submit by July 15
- Semester II: July – December → submit by January 15 (following year)
Information Required in the LKPM
Each LKPM submission includes key business and investment details such as:
- Company profile and NIB
- Total investment realization during the period
- Number of local and foreign employees
- Production capacity and business performance
- Obstacles or challenges encountered
- Additional notes or requests to BKPM
All reports must be submitted online via the OSS system at https://oss.go.id.
Penalties for Failing to Submit LKPM
Companies that fail to submit their LKPM reports on time may face the following administrative sanctions:
- Written Warning (Teguran Tertulis)
– Issued after a missed reporting period. - Temporary Suspension of Business Activities
– Your company’s business license may be suspended until the report is submitted. - Revocation of Business License (NIB)
– Continued failure to report can result in license revocation, which legally halts your operations.
These sanctions are regulated by the Ministry of Investment/BKPM to ensure compliance and transparency among investors.
