Spouse Visa (E31B) is a Limited Stay Visa issued to a foreign national who is legally married to another foreign national who already holds a valid ITAS (Limited Stay Permit) or ITAP (Permanent Stay Permit) in Indonesia.

This visa allows the husband or wife to legally live in Indonesia as a dependent of the main ITAS / ITAP holder. This type of visa is often called a Dependent Visa.

Spouse and Company Sponsor Document Requirement:

  • Director ID card (KTP) or Local Manager ID card (KTP).
  • Company current account for the last 2 (two) months.
  • Username and password for https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id.
  • Company Letter Head and Company Stamp.
  • Copy passport of the husband or wife.
  • A valid Limited Stay Permit/Permanent Stay Permit or Limited Stay Visa of the husband or wife.

Applicant Document Requirement:

  • Valid Nationality Passport at least 6 (six) months.
  • Proof of living expenses of at least US$2000 (two thousand American dollars) or equivalent.
  • Marriage certificate or marriage book that has been translated into Indonesian by a sworn translator except those that have been written in English
  • Latest color photograph.

No. The Spouse Visa (E31B) is a dependent visa and does not allow employment in Indonesia. If you plan to work, you must apply for a Work Visa and obtain a Work ITAS sponsored by an Indonesian company.

The validity of the dependent ITAS follows the validity of the main sponsor’s ITAS or ITAP. If the sponsor’s ITAS is valid for one year, the dependent ITAS will typically have the same validity period.

If the sponsor’s stay permit is cancelled, expired, or revoked, the dependent’s stay permit will also be affected. The dependent may need to leave Indonesia or change visa status.

Yes, in certain cases.

You may convert your dependent stay permit into another type of stay permit, such as a Work ITAS, if you secure employment and meet Indonesian immigration requirements.

In many cases, the conversion can be processed through a Bridging Visa (Bridging ITAS). A bridging visa allows you to remain legally in Indonesia while your stay permit status is being changed, without the need to leave the country.
